DescriptionFoliated metamorphic rock that is rust-colored on a weathered surface and medium-grey on a fresh surface. The majority of the rock is quartzofeldspathic with grains not visible to the unaided eye, but there are few micas ~2 mm. Cleavages in this rock are apparent and on the millimeter scale.
