DescriptionPlutonic, medium-grained (1-5 mm) igneous rock that is light grey on a fresh surface and medium grey to rusty on a weathered surface. Consists of 30% white plagioclase (1-4 mm), 25% light grey quartz (1-2 mm), 20% K-feldspar (≤1 mm), 15% black biotite (1-2 mm), and 10% black hornblende (1-3 mm). The biotite and hornblende tend to clump together.
